PRACTICAL INFO A-Z (TUNØ)

  • Car-free island: Tunø is car-free. Parking is available in Hou. Transport on the island is on foot or by bicycle.
  • Dogs: Dogs must be kept on a leash everywhere on the island out of consideration for wild animals and free-ranging birds.
  • Drinking water: The water on Tunø is clean and drinkable, but it is a limited resource. Please conserve water.
  • Firewood: Use only dry hardwood in the wood-burning stove. Firewood is available from Tunø Købmandsgård. It is forbidden to use driftwood from the beach (salt damages the stove).
  • Grill: Due to fire hazards, the grill must be used with great caution. Never empty hot ashes into the waste containers.
  • Illness: In case of emergency, call 112. Defibrillators are located at the harbor and at Købmandsgården.
  • Insects: As we live in the middle of nature, insects may occur. This does not entitle the tenant to compensation.
  • Internet: Wi-Fi is available in most houses, but speed may vary depending on weather and the load on the island's network.
  • Shopping: Please support local businesses and buy your goods on Tunø. There are also nice restaurants on the island.
